You know it's bad when you role the evil eye. Whatever you thought you were about to do? NOPE. Not happening.
This design is made with a dodecahedron (12-sided) die, rather than the more typical icosahedron (20-sided) die. The dodecahedron is the primary die used in some games, and the added lore would be that most things Elvish in nature are counted in 12s. All this to say... yes, it is a deliberate design choice.
